The Best Cheese and Bacon Rolls

Homemade Cheese and Bacon Rolls
1 1/4 cups lukewarm water ( must not be too hot or will kill the yeast )
2 tablespoons dried yeast
1/4 cup sugar
3 1/2 cups plain flour
1 egg
1 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup olive oil
2 tablespoons bread improver ( this is sold in almost every supermarket these days near the flour and is the key to soft bread but you can leave it out if you can't find it. )
Step 1

Add the lukewarm water to a mixing bowl with the sugar and yeast.
Allow to sit for 10 minutes.
The yeast should be foaming and bubbling a little.
Step 2
Now add the rest of the ingredients. Using the dough hook mix for 5 minutes.
You could do this by hand if you wish. You may need to add extra flour if the dough is sticking to the bowl, keep doing so until the dough stops sticking.
Once you have a nice smooth dough.
Oil bowl, place dough in bowl cover with plastic wrap and allow to rise for 2 hours.
Step 3
Cut dough into 12 pieces, form into round balls then place into a baking dish lined with baking paper.
Make sure the rolls are just touching that way you will end up with pull apart rolls.
Step 4
1 egg
1 tablespoon thickened cream

Whisk together the egg and cream and brush the top of the rolls using a pastry brush.
Step 5

2 cups bacon pieces
2 cups grated cheese roughly
Using your palm squish the rolls down then top with the cheese and bacon.
Cover with plastic wrap and allow to rise for 1 hour longer.
Step 6
Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
After 1 hours rising time and a well preheated oven. Remove plastic wrap from rolls and place in hot oven for 25 minutes or until the top is golden.
Allow rolls to cool in baking dish for 15 minutes before serving warm with lashings of butter
