Spaghetti and Meatballs

 I have been told my recipe is good from a few people.

 This recipe makes 5 large serves

 

Meatball Ingredients

​

1 kg beef mince

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

2 eggs

1 cup breadcrumbs

1 tablespoon milk

1/2 brown onion diced

1 teaspoon garlic salt optional

Salt pepper to taste

 

Add all meatball Ingredients to a bowl, use your hands to mix well.

Roll out all your meatballs and place in the fridge for 30 minutes minimum to set.

 

Sauce

 

1 brown onion diced

3-4 cloves garlic minced

2 tablespoons tomato paste

1 tin diced tomatoes

1/4 cup diced bacon

2 teaspoons or so of chicken Massal stock powder adjust to your taste

1 teaspoon sugar

Salt pepper to season

 

Heat up a fry pan, add some oil.

Brown the meatballs, remove from the pan and set aside. In the same pan Saute the onion, bacon and garlic for a few minutes.

Add the rest of the ingredients plus 2 cups of water.

Bring to the boil and simmer for 15 minutes.

Now, add the meatballs back in and cook for a further 10 minutes.

Taste and season with salt and pepper. If your sauce is looking watery keep cooking to reduce. If the sauce is looking too thick just add more water.

Serve with cooked spaghetti pasta.
