Honey prawns over rice, beef bulgogi over chips with a creamy pepper sauce
This is a unique recipe I've come up with and I love it!
You will need cooked rice and hot chips to serve
Honey prawns
12 prawns peeled and devained tail on
1/2 cup or so of honey warmed in the microwave
Sesame seeds to garnish
Fresh chopped spring onion
Batter
1/2 cup plain flour
1/2 cup cornflour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup soda water plus a couple tablespoons extra if needed
Mix all the batter ingredients together in a bowl, you want a thickish batter but so it's not stoggy and still runs off the spoon, so add more soda water if you think its too thick.

Heat up a deep fryer to 180 Degrees Celsius.
Dip the prawns into the batter holding the tail then lower gently into the hot oil and hold for a few seconds so the batter will quickly set and not stick to the fryer basket, fry for 2 minutes a batch.
Do this In batches as to not overcrowd the pan. Once you have done this now add all the prawns back in and fry in one batch for 1-2 minutes until crunchy, drain on paper towel and immediately transfer to a bowl, pour over the warmed honey and still carefully to coat prawns.
Sprinkle with sesame seeds and garnish with fresh chopped spring onion to serve
Bulgogi beef with creamy pepper sauce
500g beef rump steak cubed
Bulgogi marinade
6 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons mirim
2 tablespoons sesame oil
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
Mix all marinade ingredients together add the beef and allow to marinade overnight or 30 minutes minimum.
Remove the beef from the marinade and pan fry for 5 minutes or so on a medium heat until beef is cooked, remove beef from the pan and set aside, quickly add the leftover marinade and simmer until the sauce thickens and and changes to a darker color then pour over the beef
Quick creamy pepper sauce
1 cup sour cream
1 beef oxo stock cube crumbled
1 tablespoon freshly cracked black pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground white pepper
Salt to taste

Add all the sauce ingredients into a saucepan and simmer for 5-10 minutes or until the sauce has thickened.
Taste and season with salt, you can adjust the amount of pepper you add to your liking.
To serve divide some cooked rice amongst two bowls, add the rice on one side of the bowl and hot chips on the other side.
Top the rice with the honey prawns.
Top the hot chips with the beef bulgogi then drizzle over some of the creamy pepper sauce.
Garnish with additional toasted sesame seeds and chopped spring onion if you wish.
Enjoy!
