2 in 1 sweet and savory bread recipe
cheese and bacon rolls
cinnamon chocolate loaf with vanilla icing

I made cheese and bacon rolls for my daughter's school lunches and with the same dough I made cinnamon chocolate loaf omg so good it's dangerous

Dough ingredients
3 cups plain flour
1 tablespoon dried yeast
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon oil
1 tablespoon bread improver ( you can leave this out but your bread won't be as soft and fluffy. This is sold in every supermarket near the flour )
400ml lukewarm water
Extra flour for dusting
Add all the dough ingredients to a large bowl and stir well. Stir until your mixture starts to form a dough then turn out onto your bench. Keep kneading and adding flour until your dough stops sticking to the bench. Return your dough to your bowl and cover with glad wrap and place in a warm spot. Allow your dough to rise for 2 hours or until it has doubled in size. Be patient with the dough rising as will will make or break the end result. Once the dough has risen divide into 2 pieces. Use half the dough for the cheese and bacon rolls and half for the cinnamon loaf.
Cheese and bacon rolls topping ingredients
2 rashers hickory smoked bacon diced
1-2 cups of grated tasty or cheddar cheese
1 egg beaten with a fork
Cinnamon bread filling Ingredients
1 cup of butter or margarine ( I use margarine causes it's cheaper and easier to spread )
1 cup Brown sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup or more of milk chocolate chips
1 egg beaten with a fork
Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
To make the cheese and bacon rolls, cut your dough into 6 pieces. Using a rolling pin roll out the dough pieces to about 1 and a half centimetres thick, like a very thick pizza then place onto a baking tray lined with baking paper.
Place the rolled out dough on the trays then brush with egg wash and top with cheese and bacon.
Cover with glad wrap and allow to rise for a further hour before baking on 200degrees Celsius for 25 minutes.
To make the cinnamon rolls add the Brown sugar and cinnamon to a bowl and mix with a fork to combine.
Roll out the dough into a rectangle shape about 5mm thick.
Using a spatula spread your butter over the rolled out dough and sprinkle with your Brown sugar and cinnamon mix.
Sprinkle over the chocolate chips them roll up like a sausage.
Cut the sausage shape dough into 3 long pieces.
Line a loaf tin with baking paper then place two of the pieces in the loaf tin then top with the last piece, using your palms press down to squish the dough into one blob.
Brush with egg wash, cover with glad wrap and allow to rise for 1 hour before baking on 200 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes.
Once the cinnamon loaf has cooled in the tin for 45 minutes drizzle with this quick and delicious icing recipe
Quick vanilla icing
1 cup icing sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
Simply mix these ingredients together with a spoon to desired consistency, add more or less vanilla as needed. Drizzle over cinnamon loaf and enjoy!
